This music video was shot with Duck Fight Goose (上海市), in a real hostess bar (with some of the actual hostesses) in Shanghai back in 2014. It was right before I moved to LA and, more importantly, right before I died. (I have a mechanical valve in my chest now and everything!) Then life kinda just moved on, and the music video ended up getting shelved for no particular reason, with a lot of work still left to do to finish it. 

Sometime around the pandemic, I decided to dust it off and get it done. With the help of Kerli Teo, I was lucky enough to collaborate with the insanely talented illustrator/animator Alex Gamsu Jenkins, and we set about a 2024 release date, as 10 years later felt like the perfect amount of time. I decided to use the original demo track we used for the shoot back in 2014 (as opposed to the final track that was mastered for the album) because it felt more appropriate for what this became. That said, I did have another badass named Fili Bibliano from the metal band Intranced, add a tiny bit of electric guitar, just to bring it all home. Finally, I got some help from another legendary music video editor named David Checel to help me finish it all up, in between Eminem and Billie Eilish videos. And here we are. All in all it came out pretty rad.
